mobileFX Spartan RDP Guard is an intrusion detection system (IDS) and host-based intrusion prevention system (HIPS), implemented as a Windows 64-bit or 32-bit Service. The service subscribes to Windows Security Event Log and audits failed Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) login attempts in real-time. For every failed login attempt it immediately creates an Instant Windows Firewall Block Rule blocking the remote IPv4 address that failed to login. The service has an allow-list and a DynDNS-list that are both used as block exclusion lists. On regular intervals, instant rules are consolidated into a single RDP Guard Rule, thus keeping your Firewall organized and your server safe.

At mobileFX we digitally sign the setup packages of our software products as well as all included binaries with Thawte Code-Signing Certificate. We build our products on an isolated build server protected by Malwarebytes Premium. We strongly recommend scanning mobileFX products using Malwarebytes in order to avoid false positive reports from other inferior antivirus products.

Licensing

mobileFX Spartan RDP Guard licensing requires one license per server instance. Customers are granted free minor-version upgrades for the life-time of the major-version they have purchased by complying to upgrade terms. A default 20% discount is granted to all customers for major-version upgrade, as long as it takes place within one fiscal year and for the next major-version release.

If you desperately need a new feature implemented or immediately need a hotfix and can't wait until next release, you can contact us at info@mobilefx.com and negotiate with us a price, for which we will stop what we do and take care of what you need! The service is called a Bounty and applies only to existing Customers, for any edition of the software but only for its latest version (we do not branch per customer).



Just send us an email with what you need and our Account Manager will pass your request to our Tech Lead for Effort Estimation along with Technical Specs of the works to be done. Effort Estimation is in man hours and it is different from Duration. For example, to add a feature it might take our experts 8 hours to implement, but because we work on Sprints we might need a duration of one week to deliver.

The catch is that you participate in the process, being the primary Beta Tester! This phase is called User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and during this period you receive code-locked prototype revisions and provide us with valuable feedback, such as UAT observations and Defects. Once UAT is completed and you are satisfied with the result, you release us from the Bounty and we provide you with an Unlock Code as a token of our appreciation.
